Assistant Manager - Inventory Management

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

  • Strategizing dry goods procurement process to discover the cost-effective purchases and selecting the reliable suppliers that will facilitate in achieving company goals and objectives.
  • Maintain accurate inventory which enables to determine progress toward stated contractual goals and objectives related to Dry Goods management in CIS and Live Aquaria operations. 
  • Evaluate daily production and non-production related Live and Dry inventory levels and make necessary decisions to avoid anticipated inventory problems and shortages.
  • Conduct periodical reviews on consumption trend and reorder levels, ordering cycle, buffer stock of each individual dry good item and take necessary corrective measured to improve inventory availability.
  • Evaluate the container plan schedule to maximize the space utilization for imports and coordinate with the logistics team to arrange
    shipments.
  • Supervise and mentor the team members to meet departmental KPIs and initiate process improvement.
  • Establish operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current for assigned account.
  • Review pending orders with the team and direct them to fulfil the business requirement.
  • Evaluate outstanding supplier payments with the finance team and escalate critical issues to the management.
  • Maintain and evaluate dry goods forecast plan and review scheduling of shipments from local and foreign vendors.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Degree or Masters in Inventory Management/ Business Management/ Procurement or similar discipline.
  • A good understanding of how the inventory is utilized in the production area.
  • Excellent communications and negotiations skills.
  • Able to work well under stress in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to lead a team.
  • Experience in ornamental fish industry or pet industry such as animal transportation or Perishable goods industry will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to work during USA working hours when needed.
  • Minimum 5-6 years of work experience in the field of inventory handling & Automated inventory controlling System.
