Fabric Technologist

As a Fabric Technologist at Jay Jay Mills, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and performance of products. The candidate will work closely with our design and production teams to develop and test new fabrics, improve existing materials, and maintain the highest standards of quality control throughout our manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and development to create new textile materials that meet customer requirements and industry standards.
• Collaborate with the Merchandising team to understand fabric specifications and design aesthetics.
• Perform quality testing and analysis on fabrics to assess performance, durability, and safety.
• Identify and troubleshoot any fabric-related issues in the production process.
• Work with suppliers to source and evaluate raw materials for fabric production.
• Maintain detailed records of fabric specifications, testing results, and production processes.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, innovations, and emerging technologies in textiles.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Material Science, or a related field.
• Proven 2 years of experience as a Fabric Technologist or a similar role in the textile industry.
• Strong knowledge of textile materials, fabric production processes, and quality control methods.
• Should be a technically sound person with excellent understanding of fabric finishing/ testing standard.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Excellent customer service skill.
