Head of Retail Credit

We invite applications from highly driven and accomplished individuals for the position of "Head of Retail Credit" at Union Bank. Head of Retail Credit should provide leadership to the Retail Credit Team to create/build up and maintain high quality portfolio that ensures a regular income stream whilst ensuring that credit loss is at the minimal. The job also covers fraud control relating to Union Bank card business.

The Job

• Design/Modify and communicate credit and lending policies which anticipates/reflect market conditions to maintain and improve portfolio quality and seek to maximize portfolio profitability.
• Ensuring that the underwriting process/mechanism is robust and efficient to weed out unproductive booking of assets in order to build and maintain a healthy asset portfolio.
• Continuously develop management information and portfolio segmentation to clearly identify risk drivers to the risk elements can be controlled to forecast portfolio performance and make credit decisions and decisions relating to portfolio management.
• Work closely with business managers to provide risk information to assist the business to achieve sustainable portfolio growth.
• Ensuring timely and accurate production of credit MIS
• Manage the ongoing training and development of Credit and Collection staff in order to maximize staff productively, reduce staff turnover and contain costs.
• Ensure appropriate fraud control mechanism is in place to contain plastic related fraud losses.

The Person

Should possess professional qualifications in banking/management together with extensive experience in credit marketing. Ability to independently assess and prepare credit proposals, good report writing skills, analytical skills, and ability to interpret financial statement are prerequisites.

Such experience should cover overall banking experience with at leave five years' experience in a senior managerial position in credit management.
