JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Draft, review and provide advice on legal documentation such as agreements, contracts and MoUs
  • Providing legal advice and support to the management on corporate legal matters including matters pertaining to employees.
  • Draft, review internal policies and advise management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel when necessary and manage external legal and regulatory relationships
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings, including negotiation, mediation, and court hearings 
  • Executing deeds and other notarial documents
  • Preparing legal documents for all stages of the company lifecycle
  • Performing and/ or monitoring statutory filings with local authorities
  • Coordinating with business partners, clients, and colleagues to gather information and/ or documentation required to carry out assignments

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Be an attorney at Law, holding a Bachelor's degree in Law with Notary License
  • Possess a minimum 5 years of experience with at least 3 years in the corporate sector
  • Have excellent business writing skills
  • Possess an excellent command of English and Sinhala
  • Be self - Driven, and have the ability to work independently within given timelines
