Manager - Internal Audit (Retail Sector)

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Building an effective risk-based internal audit strategy with the guidance of Head of Internal Audit - Retail Sector and monitor its implementation.
  • Identify risks effecting the Softlogic retail Sector businesses and convert it to a risk assessment
  • Establishing risk-based audit policy, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with the industry best practices.
  • Drive the showroom audits to ensure that showroom operation is adequately covered
  • Performing risk-based audits and test of controls to identify risks or exposures related to internal controls and compliance.
  • Overseeing the execution of individual audits as required by the organization and ensuring the audit work maintains the guidelines
  • Present high-quality reports to the Group Board Audit Committee with detailed description of the risk & agreed action plan of mitigating the risks with the Management
  • Providing subject-matter expertise and assistance with audits including collaboration with various functions/ departments of the Organization and external parties.
  • Provide appropriate recommendations and solutions for deficiencies in internal controls identified during investigations/Process audits/Semi Audits and discuss and agree the findings with relevant process owners/ senior management
  • Responsible for building, mentoring, and coaching the Internal audit team. Provide them with opportunities to learn, evaluate them and give them unbiased feedback. Coach and develop them in order to develop their careers

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Should have membership of ICASL (Fully qualified)
  • Degree in Accounting/Business management will be an added advantage
  • A minimum 3 years at a reputed audit firm and 3 - 5 years post qualification experience in an esteemed commercial establishment in similar capacity
  • In an organization least should have supervised a team of 10-15 staff members
  • Previous experience in big data analytics and use of Computer aided audit analytical software would be a definite advantage
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Possess high level of professional skepticism.
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills.
  • Should be a strong team player.
