Mechanical Design Engineer Head of Design and R D

A well-established Engineering/ Manufacturing company (Mould and tool making, injection molding and mechanical assembly) operating successfully for over 25 years in Free Trade Zone, Katunayake.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer/ Head of Design and R&D to join our team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing complex mechanical systems. You will have the opportunity to solve problems in engineering design and participate in industry development.

Job Profile: -

• Design and develop mechanical mold and machinery parts as per customers' requirements.
• Prepare engineering calculations, quotations, drawings, and specifications.
• Perform design and production trials.
• Coordinate with production flow by giving the necessary instruction for mold assembly, Reworks, troubleshooting ... etc.
• Participate in design review of Participate in design reviews of mechanical systems and prototypes.
• Coordinate and review engineering schedules with the customers, project team, and production flow.
• Review and approve documentation for quality and safety.
• Perform project analysis.

Requirements and Qualifications: -

• Should have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized university or institute.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar capacity.
• Experience with mechanical design and control system, manufacturing process development.
• Experience with Solid Works.
• Candidates should be below 50 years of age.
• Have a good communication skill in Sinhala & English.
• Strong presentation and problem-solving skills.

Salary is negotiable according to the working experience and qualifications.
