Merchandiser Sample Development

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with designers and product development teams to create product samples based on buyers' requirement and specifications.
• Source and procure the required materials, fabrics, trims, and components needed for sample creation, ensuring they meet quality and design requirements.
• Ensure that samples meet established quality standards, making necessary adjustments and improvements to enhance the overall quality and functionality of the product.
• Work within allocated budgets for sample development, monitoring and controlling costs associated with materials, labor, and other expenses involved in the process.
• Develop and manage production schedules and timelines to meet sample deadlines and align with product launch dates.
• Maintain accurate records of sample development processes, including material specifications, costs, timelines, and quality evaluations.
• Gather feedback from internal teams and external stakeholders on the developed samples, incorporating necessary changes and iterations to meet desired product specifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Fashion Merchandising, Textile Engineering, Apparel Design, or a related discipline.
• Relevant work experience more than 2 years.
• A deep understanding of the apparel industry, including trends, materials, production processes, and market dynamics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and external partners effectively.
• The ability to negotiate with suppliers and build positive working relationships with vendors, manufacturers, and other stakeholders is important for sourcing materials and ensuring efficient sample development.
