Job Profile
The Network, Advocacy and Communications Officer/ Coordinator will be responsible for, Communications and Strategic Advocacy for the World Vision Lanka PHINLA Project for Livelihood development through Waste Management. Networking with National and local levels with the authorities and institutions in order to establish proper waste management systems and adoption of appropriate policies/ regulations including raising awareness of the public for the same.
Major Responsibilities
- Delivering a smart advocacy agenda that increases profile and understanding of PHINLA Community based waste management model for Non-wide adoption.
- Leading effective external communication and global/ program awareness, through tree country waste
- Supporting the growth of a strong global network of organizations to promote the best practices in waste management.
- Leading on and coordinating 3R based campaigns that inspire a "Waste Free Environment".
- Facilitate response, interaction & communication with all stakeholders at the national level to establish & function the National Steering Committee.
- Explore and link the PHINLA best practices to services and programs available in the National level.
- Ensure required communication & visibility compliance in the digital, printed materials produced to report in compliance to the donor requirement and standards.
- Facilitate regular discussions with government, service providers and technical advisors to ensure quality technical inputs for project implementation.
- Ensure project spending is in consistent with the planned project budget, procurement and spent in accordance with donor rules and regulations.
- Close cooperation with the Project Team & Consultant for meeting Project the objectives.
Required qualifications, experience & competencies
- Must have at least 2 - 4 years of strong Advocacy/ Influencing skills with practical experience in leading advocacy works on project activities.
- Bachelors' Degree in Communication & Advocacy, Development Studies.
- Experience in Community engagement/ Community Mobilization.
- Networking, negotiation and partnering skills. Excellent interpersonal, presentation (oral and written) skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work on own initiative and be proactive.
- Willingness and capacity to travel.
- Fluent in English and Sinhala or Tamil.
