Job Purpose:

The IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's IT infrastructure. This includes managing the organization's network, servers, storage, and security systems to ensure high availability, reliability, and security of IT operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, network devices, and security systems.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software components, including operating systems, applications, and utilities.
• Monitor and analyse system performance, usage, and capacity, and recommend improvements as needed.
• Troubleshoot issues and resolve technical problems related to infrastructure and system software.
• Ensure the security of the IT infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection, and encryption.
• Collaborate with other IT professionals and vendors to ensure the seamless integration of new systems and software with the existing infrastructure.
• Plan and implement upgrades, patches, and new systems, software, and hardware in accordance with the organization's needs.
• Develop and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for IT infrastructure-related systems and software.
• Maintain knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in IT infrastructure.
• Monitor compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards, and ensure that corrective actions are taken as needed.
• Monitor and analyse security events and incidents in the cloud environment and respond to security incidents as needed.

Essential Qualifications / Exposure:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience as an IT Infrastructure Engineer.
• Knowledge of operating systems, including Windows Server and Linux.
• Proficiency in virtualization technologies, such as VMware and Hyper-V.
• Strong understanding of security best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection, and encryption.
• Knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
• Experience with storage area networks (SAN) and network attached storage (NAS).
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and applications, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills.
