Trainee Draftsman & Project Coordinator

Responsibilities:

• Sets up and maintains an organized file system for production drawings
• Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials and other physical sciences to complete drawings
• Verify that drawings are accurate, legible, and follow applicable industry codes
• Create detailed drawings as per our clients' specifications
• Work directly with engineers and inside sales to develop drawings, schematics, and diagrams for projects
• Uses computer assisted design/drafting (AutoCAD 2020) equipment and software to develop designs
• Creates and revises fabrication drawings
• Drafts detailed multi-view drawings of products
• Modify existing drawings to reflect necessary changes
• Maintain and create company standard drawing documents
• Work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Communicate and accurately modify technical drawings based on customer request
• Maintain filing systems and reference libraries
• Consult with fabrication teams during product manufacturing, advising them on design specifications and providing physical assistance when required
• Create detailed approval, shop and installation drawings

Requirements:

• Certificate/Diploma or Higher qualifications in the field of engineering, drafting or design technology
• 1-2 year experience is required. Freshers are also welcome
• Able to effectively communicate with architects and clients
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and on a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Detail oriented, organized with the ability to handle multiple ongoing projects and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of drafting standards, mathematics, and engineering technology
• The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues
• A basic understanding of mathematics and technical skills in computer aided drafting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel (able to manipulate formulas)
• The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions
• Able to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with various departments such as engineering, purchasing, sales, and manufacturing team
• Strong understanding of engineering concepts, principles and techniques
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment
